A portrait is a very personal and unique gift that will be in the family for generations. Commission a portrait of a loved one, family member or someone special who may no longer be with us.
I focus on the individual, so I only do single portraits. I mainly work from photos that I take myself or if you have a good quality photo that is suitable, I can work from that too.

Materials
I offer two types of portraits, red pencil or charcoal on the best quality acid free watercolour paper that is made to last.
Framing
I also offer a choice of two frames, black or oak, with a 2 inch mount. I have worked with Bespoke & Co framers in Kilkenny for several years now and they always provide a very high quality and professional service.

Oil Portrait Commissions
Pat Maher Portrait - 2024
I am also available for oil protrait commissions. Here is a recent commission. This is Pat Maher from Clogh, Castlecomer. Pat was a very proud member of the Brow Rangers Athletics club, where he used to do weight throwing. In the 80s, Pat broke the national record for his over the bar throw of 4.72 metres. The record hadn't been broken for 40 years before that, so it was quite an achievement. The weight in the painting is 56lb, aka the Half Hundred. Thanks to Pat for allowing me to paint his portrait, I really enjoyed it!
